Job Description:
The Assistant Director of Residence Life for Housing Operations works as an integral part of the Residence Life team, specifically focused on the housing operations of the department, student support and community building relationships with campus partners.
This individual works closely with the Associate Dean of Students/Director to develop a residential environment that promotes personal and academic growth for students.
This is a twelve-month position which requires evening and weekend hours that reports to the Associate Dean of Students/Director of Residence Life.
The position assists the Office of Residence Life in the fulfillment of the mission of the University and the department by providing a safe, inclusive and comfortable living environment by striving to model Catholic virtues by building a community of respect, honesty, integrity, love and compassion.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Housing Operations Tasks Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective students and their families Oversee daily administrative hall operations including, but not limited to, occupancy management, room inspections, and housing selection processes.
Coordinate the collection of various data such as annual report data, retention, and quality of life survey data.
Track, reconcile, and submit scheduled reports for residence life and enrollment management operations.
Track retention statistics gathered through assessment methods and make necessary programmatic changes Conduct the Housing Selection process during the spring semester for the following school year Manage the interim/break housing process Coordinate housing assignments, withdrawals, and room changes Communicate all room changes to the RAs, Public Safety, and roommates Manage the Summer I and II housing placements for summer students Coordinate and manage the placements of all first year students in June, July, and August Assign housing for all transfer and new students throughout the school year and summer Assist with the student placement and development of the Honors living learning community Organize and plan all schedules and materials for the opening (in August) and closings (at each break and in May) of the residence halls Manage the process for damages during the closing of the residence halls in May Organize the system for Room Condition Reports for recording damages for each residential student Generate reports (such as occupancy numbers, number of residential students, etc.
) through the housing system for Accounting & Finance, Associate Dean/Director of Residence Life, and/or Vice President & Dean of Students as requested Develop partnerships with constituents across the University, including but not limited to academic units and athletics Represent the department at campus events Update and manage material related to residence life on the departmental website Residence Life Tasks Supervise the on campus houses that house UG and Graduate students Work with individual students to resolve various residential issues such as roommate conflicts, facility concerns, etc.
Work with individual students to assist and support them with academic, social and transitional concerns Serve as a Mount Cares case manager Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement annual Resident Assistant selection, training and ongoing in-service training Assist with major repairs and projects for the upcoming year by collaborating with Physical Plant and outside vendors Serve on University committees as assigned by the Associate Dean of Students or Vice President & Dean of Students Participate in Admissions and other recruitment/retention programs such as:
Open Houses, Accepted Students Day and New Student Orientation (first-year and transfer) Participate in professional development opportunities Serve in the On-Call rotation as scheduled to respond to emergency/crisis situations in conjunction with Resident Assistants, Public Safety, and Counseling Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Salary/Benefits/Remuneration This is a full-time position with full benefits and annual, holiday and sick leave.

Competitive salary commensurate to experience.
The position will also include on campus 2 bedroom apartment with a private entrance.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
