Job Description:
The Evening Services Manager will supervise library operations during evening hours.
This is a 12-month position that will report to the Director of the Library.

Provide administrative supervision of library services during evening hours.
Oversees all circulation services in Phillips Library:
borrowing, renewing, and processing returned materials.
Operates the Course Reserve system, assisting faculty and students.
Implements the library's interlibrary loan program.
Adds new print books and media to the collection through copy cataloging.
Maintains the integrity of the library's print book collection by overseeing shelving, self-reading; conducts the annual inventory of the book collection.
Serves as the library's first customer service contact in providing appropriate solutions to questions or referring users to a librarian for in-depth assistance, and as such must be personable, cordial, and informative.
Manages the library's community borrower program.
Records and maintains statistics for circulation, reserves, and attendance.
Maintains circulation desk physical equipment, supplies, environment, etc.
Minor responsibilities may include:
Keeps official records, collects data, and submits records as required by the Director of the Library.
Participates in on-going activities such as workshops, meetings, and training to ensure that the library is a dynamic and relevant learning environment.
Keeps current on all aspects of the Mount, especially maintaining skills in interoffice systems and requirements for record keeping.
Assists with general administrative responsibilities of the Library.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of the Library.
Job Requirements:
Education, Experience and Skills:
The appointed individual will have:
A bachelor's degree, preferred.
Library or customer service experience.
Basic computer skills.
Show promise of rendering effective library services that contribute to the well-being of the Mount Community and the mission of Mount St.
Mary's University Hours Sunday - Thursday, 12:
00 PM - 8:
00 PM during the academic year with the option for standard business hours during the summer and semester breaks.
