EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT:
Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
In this position, you will serve as a Management and Program Analyst for the United States Fire Administration, Deputy Assistant Administrator.
Typical assignments include:
Conducting routine quantitative and qualitative analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established agency goals and objectives.
Performing recurring assignments related to the effectiveness of programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of organizations and resource utilization.
Using well-established investigative techniques to address issues and to reach sound management compromises.
Collecting, analyzing, and presenting data on appropriate topics from a variety of traditional sources.
Analyzing and advising management on standard, day-to-day issues related to the effectiveness of programs and operations and the productivity and efficiency of organization and resource utilization.
Developing analysis and evaluating established programs, policies, procedures, associated goals and objectives, and mission operations.
Proposing plans that are well-developed and account for potential difficulties with alternative solutions and approaches.
Serving as a source of common information on issues requiring the participation of multiple parties in unstructured settings.
Evaluating the impact of common policies on organizational or project effectiveness.
Promotion Potential:
Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval.

You qualify for this position at the GS-07 level (starting salary $50,643) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-05) in the Federal Service.
This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing assignments in Microsoft Office programs and coordinating administrative processes such as records management; and Assisting senior level analysts in conducting risk analysis and reviewing agency programs and processes.
OR1 full year of graduate level educationor superior academic achievementORCombination of education and experience (if required) You qualify for this position at the GS-09 level (starting salary $61,947) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service.
This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this position includes:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
