Summary:
This position includes providing full-time support to the FEMA National Education Training Center (NETC) on-site in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
Create schedules.
Ensure trash removal and recycling procedures are in accordance with guidelines.
Scheduling staff shifts and organizing replacements as required.
Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
Ensure services are utilizing best practices and guiding principles.
Providing training to the housekeeping staff.
Regularly taking inventory of cleaning supplies and ordering stock as needed.
Issuing cleaning supplies and equipment to housekeeping staff as needed.
Responding to on-site requests as necessary.
Schedule and record work, write reports, and communicate effectively with others.
Experience:
Three (3) years proven experience working in the housekeeping /janitorial services field.
Supervisory experience in housekeeping / janitorial services.
High school diploma or GED.
Proven housekeeping or hospitality experience.
Physical and/or Other
Specific Requirements:
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Must be a U.
S.
Citizen Must have a valid driver's license.
Available on-site 8:
30 AM through 5:
00 PM, Monday through Friday.
During other than normal business hours and in the case of staff shortages, the Housekeeping Supervisor shall respond to on-site requests as necessary.
Able to multitask.
Able to stand for extended periods of time, walk distances, and lift 50 pounds or more.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
