Job Description:
The Visitor Relations Grounds Associate oversees and enhances the outdoor, day-to-day, visitor hospitality efforts, and provides a safe and clean environment to further advance the visitor's experience at the National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.
This position directly reports to the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Spiritual Activities Coordinate the National Shrine Grotto liturgical activities with the National Shrine Grotto Chaplains.
Coordinate the work of the seminarian assigned to National Shrine Grotto.
Arrange for special Masses and other liturgies for feast days and other special events (e.
g.
May Crowning, Vietnamese Pilgrimage) including setting up the altar for masses, weddings, dedications, etc.
Coordinate the music ministry program (cantors and organist) in conjunction with Campus Ministry, the seminary music programs, and the St.
Elizabeth Ann Seton Shrine.
Schedule volunteers for lecturing, extraordinary ministers and altar servers.
Events / Scheduled Groups Fulfill visitor requests for pilgrimages, dedications, weddings, Masses, visits, funerals, etc.
Manage and track group, retreat and wedding registrations and develop post-event summary reports.
Process event-related invoices and manage event budgets; track related monthly event expenses; generate/distribute management reports; prepare event proposals that include budget information and estimates.
Implement event set ups and tear downs, audio-visual needs, and speaker logistical planning.
Grounds Assures closing of the facilities and grounds while maintaining peace and serenity.
Job Requirements:
Education, Experience and Skills:
Minimum of two years of related experience, preferably in higher education or nonprofit environment preferred.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain composure and flexibility in stressful, deadline-driven situations.
Resourcefulness, attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage and organize multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work both independently, and as part of a team with results-oriented approach.
Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to be persistent in tasks.
Ability to give substantial feedback on given responsibilities.
In-depth knowledge of Roman Catholic institution, with its cultures and structure and activities Salary/Hours Minimum Pay Rate:
$15.
