Summary: The Computer Operator II will operate, maintain, and monitor computer equipment and provide assistance as needed to customers.

Operate and monitor computer equipment.
Perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and peripherals.
Respond to help desk tickets, if working in the classroom IT area, course managers and customers' needs.
Provide advice, assistance and training in applying, configuring, troubleshooting, and delivering electronic customer support services.
Work with customers to assure all practices and procedures within the federal government are met.
Perform a variety of tasks working under general supervision; reports to a team leader or manager.
Non-Essential Duties:
Other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
High School Diploma/GED required.
Degree and/or Vocational School certification preferred.
1 year of experience as support personnel in a computer environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have the ability to pass FEMA background check.
Knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
Ability to assist users with basic Wi-Fi access.
Knowledge of checking and scanning USB devices.
Knowledge/exposure to McAfee antivirus and Malwarebytes.
Must have the ability to work weekends and Holidays.
Understand FEMA 508 requirements.
Broad knowledge of IT principles, concepts and methods.

Work Environment:

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
