Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.In this position, as a Training Specialist (Distance Learning) you will support the United States Fire Administration in developing various training program. Typical assignments include:
Assisting with the development of a wide variety of web content using template page designs, collaboration tools, and various web media; Assisting with the research of emerging technologies to determine feasibility of implementation; Assisting with the delivery of distance learning tele-training broadcast, online training, and video teleconferencing technology; Assisting with development of course templates that support blended learning approaches used with the resident curricula; Participating in a variety of programmatic and teaming initiatives Promotion Potential:

Pathways Recent Graduate Program Requirement:
You must have completed, within the last two years (from the closing date of this announcement), a qualifying associate, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a accredited educational institution. Individuals who will receive their degree on/before February 28, 2020; can apply and must provide a letter from their institution stating they are schedule to receive their degree no later than February 28, 2020. On the questionnaire, answer the Recent Graduate questions as either option 1 or 2; answering that question negatively will make your application ineligible for further consideration. Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have up to six years after the degree completion of their degree to apply. You must provide a copy of all your transcripts; official or unofficial are both acceptable. Transcripts must have your name, institution name and information, and the date your degree was conferred or awarded and the date. AND Qualification Requirement:
You qualify for this position at the GS-07 level (starting salary $47,016) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-05) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
Coordinating task or projects Conducting research OR One (1) full year of graduate level education OR Superior Academic Achievement. OR Combination of education and experience You qualify for this position at the GS-09 level (starting salary $57,510) if you possess the following:
One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal Service. This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:
Creating web-based and multimedia content Using technology based learning management systems Using web-based course-ware and collaboration tools OR One (1) full year of graduate level education OR Superior Academic Achievement.OR Combination of education and experience AND Individual Occupational Requirement Education:

Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses Grade-point average (GPA):
Applicants must have a GPA of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on four (4) years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final two (2) years of the curriculum; OR (b) GPA of 3.5 or higher (B+ or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field during the final two (2) years of the curriculum. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
